Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

We're on the lookout for a skilled Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to oversee and manage our clients diverse range of databases. This position involves optimizing database configurations and access, tackling performance and capacity issues, and ensuring robust database recovery and backup strategies.

Key Responsibilities for the SQL DBA:

· Write, Manage and troubleshoot SSIS Package/Job schedules

· Oversee Backups and Restores

· Construct and supervise Databases/Instances

· Implement Instance and Database Security measures

· Conduct Performance Tuning activities

· Maintain Test, Certification, and Production Environments

· Adhere to change control processes

· Ensure Patching and Audit Compliance

· Administer Reporting Services (SSRS)

· Oversee Power BI operations

· Provide SQL Design and Development Consulting

· Develop and maintain comprehensive standard work/procedure documents

· Offer technical support and guidance to end users

· Perform daily operating system health checks

· Support scheduled after-hours maintenance

· Be available for 24/7 on-call support

SQL DBA Required Skills:

· 2 – 5 years' experience in SQL Server database administration

· Proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and administering SQL Server 2014

· Demonstrated expertise with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

· Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

· Familiarity with Power BI Server

· Strong documentation, organizational, and administrative skills

· Excellent oral and written communication abilities

The ideal SQL DBA candidate also has some experience with:

· Windows Server and SharePoint

· Familiarity with visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI etc)

· Exposure to AWS, S3, Redshift, Aurora, Azure

· Background in data warehousing

· Understanding of Agile methodology
