Job description
This engineering role is responsible for front-end engineering activity such as Surface Mount Technology, BOM/BOO creation, quoting and other activities needed prior to release of documentation for preparation to run. In addition, this role provides engineering support to the production floor, improving efficiency, developing processes and resolving problems encountered during NPI and during the production process. This position reports to the Engineering Manager/Director/VP.
Essential Functions
Manufacturing Engineer I, II and III:
- Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
- Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.
- Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
- Levels II and III will have demonstrated advancing proficiency in the above.

Manufacturing Engineer Education Requirements and Related Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum of 0/3/5 years experience in an engineering discipline
- Experience using CAD or CAM software
- Experience with common software tools such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Competitive compensation is dependent on experience and will be assessed at the time of the interview. Relocation assistance is available for the successful candidate. This position is eligible for the annual incentive program based on results achievement.
