Material Handler/Shipping

Job Summary
Responsible for Shipping outbound materials to customers or being returned to suppliers; verifying assemblies & Final QA status; counting shipping quantity; use of proper packaging and delivery per customer specifications, to include the records required for each by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

Material Handler I (Shipping):

• Ship goods against open PO’s (Sales Orders), verify correctness [count, assembly, sales order/work order#, final QA, etc.]. Pack product per specifications in MPI.
• Ship all product according to the standard customer method and destination unless notified of an exception by management or the program manager. Enter all shipments into computerized ERP system.
• Move material throughout facility using hand and power jacks, forklifts, trucks and hoists.
• Facilitate the timely processing of returned from suppliers on Debit Memos or manual packing slips.
• Make copies of documentation and distribute as necessary.
• Keep records of shipping transactions using computer terminal, shipping document copies, etc. in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Document exception conditions in computerized ERP system with notes and email same to accounting, purchasing, engineering, quality, program management, etc.
• Perform heavy lifting as required

Education & Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus 1-2 years related experience and/or training in Shipping; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center shipping department preferred

-Currently is or the ability to become Forklift certified.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Overtime
