Position Overview:
Prime Telecom Solutions is seeking a dedicated and skilled Underground Fiber Technician to join our underground crew. This role is crucial for the efficient and precise installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables. You will be expected to convey a professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the services to the public. In this position, you will verify that all locates are completed before any tasks are performed and report any follow-up work needed to your manager. You will work closely with Project Managers to manage your workload effectively. Job Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair underground fiber optic cables.
- Operate Equipment such as Mini-X, Trenchers, and Vibratory Plows to install fiber optic cables.
- Verify that all locates are completed before performing any tasks.
- Locate Existing Infrastructure before placing fiber
- Identify and troubleshoot problems with fiber optic cables and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation.
- Communicate with customers and coworkers in a professional manner.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive relationship with customers.
- Report any follow-up work needed to the manager.
- Work closely with Dispatch and Project Managers for workload assignment.
- Record signal levels, daily times, function codes, and other required information.
- Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and drop bury equipment.
- Assist team personnel in problem-solving and performing their duties when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1 Year of Equipment Operator Experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills
- Possesses strong problem solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and on time
- Ability to operate all hand tools, power tools, and equipment applicable to job-related duties in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
