Position Summary
We are looking for knowledgeable and detail-oriented Construction Inspectors to join our team in the DMV area. The Construction Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and ensuring compliance with all construction plans, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection and Compliance: Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements, including DBE participation.
- Quality Control: Review construction materials, methods, and workmanship to ensure high standards and adherence to industry best practices.
- Safety Monitoring: Ensure that all work complies with OSHA standards and PrimECS’s safety policies. Report and address any safety concerns immediately.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, including daily site logs, photographs, and checklists. Report on any discrepancies, non-compliance issues, or safety violations.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and field crews to clarify requirements and address project issues as they arise.
- Testing Oversight: Monitor and document any field testing or inspections required by the project scope, including mandrel, PDA testing, and rebar inspection.
- Client and Stakeholder Interaction: Act as a representative of PrimECS, communicating inspection results and observations to clients, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and technical documents. Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software, preferably Procore.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in construction inspection, with a focus on heavy civil infrastructure. Experience in earthwork, concrete, utility work and/or rail or building systems is a plus.
- Certifications: Certification as a Construction Inspector (ACI, NICET, or similar) preferred. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required but can be obtained while under PrimECS’ employ.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with construction specifications, codes, and industry standards in the DMV area. Proficiency in Procore and knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating reports and coordinating with project stakeholders.
Additional Requirements
- Availability: Flexibility to travel to various job sites in the DMV area. May include some early morning or late evening inspections.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various field conditions, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Driving License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
