NEW START UP URGENT CARE WITH ROOM TO GROW AS A X-Ray Tech/ MA/FD IN PARRISH, ELLENTON, AND BRADENTON FLORIDA.
As a Radiologic Technologist or Basic X-ray Machine Operator BXMO/ Medical Assistant/Front Desk you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of Urgent Cares in Manatee and Sarasota counties. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange laboratory services
- Check with patients and type up patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Cross-train with front desk medical receptionist and medical assistant duties as needed
- Must be willing to travel between all PrimeHealth clinics in local area, as needed
- Patient check-in/check-out process, includes greeting patients with a smile, collecting, entering, and verifying insurance coverage and benefits, entering confidential patient demographics and health information, collecting deductibles, copays or coinsurance, outstanding balances at time of service, prior to treatment
- Collect and post payments, provide patient receipts
- Answer phones, route calls, take messages and communicate to the team/provider in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
- Educate patients on insurance benefits and their financial responsibility accordingly
- Obtain changes in insurances, patient demographics, etc. upon every patient visit
- Schedule/reschedule/cancel patient appointments as requested
- Recordkeeping, scanning of forms to patient EMR, copying, faxing
- Quickly answer or properly refer questions and issues
- Maintain office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders
- Perform continuous sanitization of clinic workspaces and waiting areas
- Room patients as needed
- Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information by adhering to all HIPAA regulations
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- The ability to demonstrate competency using a mulit-line phone system, processing of credit card payments and utilization of online insurance portals a plus
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work collaboratively with all customers, treating all parties with respect
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Must be computer literate; Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Quickbooks, EMR
- Certification as a Medical Assistant
