Job Description
The Environmental Services Technician (EST) is responsible for all related housekeeping duties necessary within an assigned area, to maintain the center in a clean, sanitary and safe environment. Report maintenance related items for repair, practice good safety habits, and possess good communication skills.
Job Duties
- Clean, mop, disinfect all areas in the center, including and not limited to waiting rooms and operating rooms.
- Maintain a good appearance of the windows, doors, patient curtains, and all surfaces; must maintain a sanitary environment for patient and staff.
- Distributes clean laundry to PACU and Pre-Op, and changing areas.
- Make beds and maintain order, cleanliness, and neatness within the center.
- Disinfects sinks and toilets and mop all floors.
- Use specialized cleaning agents to disinfect rooms and prevent the spread of germs.
- Report any areas that require repair and attention to supervisors or maintenance staff.
- Additional duties assigned by management.
- Follows surgery centers policies and procedures.
- Travels to facilities on-need be basis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Capable of operating equipment and machinery (vacuum, high speed buffer, floor scrubber, carpet extractor).
- Appearance must be clean, neat, and well groomed.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Always use personal protective equipment, following policy.
- Cleans and maintains facilities according to Prime MSO’s policy.
- Report to the supervisor with any supplies needed.
