You’ll work on the design and implementation of electrical protection systems within substation projects. WHO YOU ARE
- You studied electrical engineering. You have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 0 to 5 years of experience in protection and control (P&C) engineering design, particularly in substation projects. You are growing your knowledge of the industry standards, codes, and best practices in protection and control (P&C) engineering. Having your EIT is a plus.
- You’re proficient with business and engineering applications. Microsoft Office and AutoCAD or Microstation proficiency is a must.
- You’re a people person with the ability to collaborate with various disciplines and team members while also being able to develop effective protection strategies, ensuring that all designs adhere to industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Your strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills will contribute to your success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- You’ll collaborate with a project team to develop design documents and drawings for substation protection and control (P&C) systems including one-line diagrams, single line relay & metering diagrams, AC & DC schematic diagrams, bills of materials, and applying field mark-ups of project as-built drawings.
- You’ll apply knowledge of protection relaying schemes, including bus, transmission line, and transformer protection, to design solutions for complex substation projects.
- You’ll design and implement protection schemes and controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. You’ll also perform detailed analysis of system configurations and relay settings.
- You’ll perform quality assurance (QA) design reviews for all protection and control (P&C) documents.
- You’ll support the commissioning and testing phases of protection and control systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- You’ll connect with people. You’ll communicate and coordinate project activities with project engineers, designers, and customer representatives.
