Drop Bury Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of network infrastructure and have hands-on experience with various technical equipment such as vibratory plows and light meters. This role involves working with both heavy machinery and telecommunications systems, ensuring that all installations and repairs are executed efficiently and safely.

Duties

• Using a trenching shovel or "whomper" you will dig an 8-12" trench to bury the internet cable.
• Operate heavy equipment such as vibratory plows for underground burial.
• Utilize voltmeters to test electrical circuits and ensure proper functionality.
• Use connection testing meters such as a fiber light meter reader to check the level of connectivity.
• Responsible for documenting the details of each individual drop completed to be uploaded into Penguin Data.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols.
• Read and interpret technical schematics to guide installation processes.

Skills

• Experience with operating heavy machinery safely.
• Osha Certifications aren't required but are useful
• Familiarity with using voltmeters for electrical testing and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of cabling techniques and Ethernet installations.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
