Underground Fiber Installation Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled underground drop bury technician to join our dynamic team in Dothan, AL. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and be proficient in various aspects of drop bury and telecommunications. This role involves working with both physical and digital systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our operational capabilities.

Duties

• Burial of fiber telecommunications lines with a minimum depth of 8-12" in the ground .
• Utilize fiber meters and power tools to troubleshoot and resolve connection issues.
• Perform fiber connections for the customer.
• Operate hand tools to place the fiber into the ground.
• Locate the correct terminals to ensure proper connections for the customer.
• Collaborate with team members to build and enhance the customer's experience.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to ensure functionality and safety.
• Document all work performed, including repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.

Experience

• Proven experience in drop bury installation or maintenance is preferred.
• Familiarity with fiber optics techniques is a plus.
• Experience using meter readers and power tools effectively in a professional setting.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Knowledge of telecommunications.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
