PrimeTalent is partnering with a client to find an Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to join their team. This role involves representing insurance companies in coverage disputes, including bad faith claims and litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in insurance coverage litigation, but we are open to varying levels of experience.
This role requires a keen understanding of insurance law, as cases often involve determining coverage applicability and handling disputes against both insureds and other insurance carriers. A Missouri license is required at the time of hire, with the expectation of obtaining a Kansas license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent insurance companies in coverage disputes and bad faith claims
- Assess insurance policies to determine coverage applicability
- Handle litigation, including motion practice, depositions, and trials
- Work collaboratively with partners and other attorneys on complex insurance matters
- Provide strategic counsel to insurance carriers regarding coverage decisions
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation (flexible based on experience)
- Licensed to practice in Missouri (required); Kansas license preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Experience handling bad faith claims and complex insurance coverage matters
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Compensation & Work Environment:
- No formal billable hour requirement, but expected workload around 1,800 hours annually
- Hybrid work model with a strong preference for regular in-office presence
