The Primetals-Blytheville Facility is currently seeking to fill a Mechanical Engineer position. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the evaluation, modification and design of mechanical products and equipment used by Primetals’ customers to produce sheet, I-beam, and bar/rod steel products. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate and consult with internal partners in assembly, fabrication, and machining to devise the most efficient parts and equipment, while keeping product quality and user safety top-of-mind.

Qualifications
- Applicants should possess a BS in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of successful experience in a related field is required.
- Design experience using 2D AutoCAD and 3D software is preferred, but not required.

- Designs mechanical products and equipment by studying customer requirements and use, developing, and testing specifications and methods.
- Analyzes drawings for functionality, accuracy, the ability to manufacture and assemble, and for overall compliance with project requirements.
- Evaluates mechanical systems and equipment by designing and conducting research and applying principles of engineering.
- Devises new approaches to problems encountered and resolves situations relating to conflicting design requirements.
- Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods, system capabilities and confirming fabrication, machining, assembly, and installation processes.
- Performs 2D and 3D drawing revisions and maintains document control systems.
- Ensures projects meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Evaluates vendor bids and drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
