Position Summary:
As the lead mortgage loan officer, you will engage with credit union members, teammates, and prospects to further our core values of Caring: Compassion, Accountability, Real value, Integrity, New ideas, and Guidance while increasing mortgage production.
Responsibilities:
- The mortgage loan officer will drive sales growth by increasing mortgage referrals from PrimeWay FCU retail centers, builders, and realtors. This role focuses on delivering an exceptional mortgage experience through the mortgage process.
- Interview residential mortgage loan applicants. Meets members in person as needed. Conducts routine branch visits.
- Completes mortgage applications for processing and TBD underwriting.
- Evaluate loan requests to determine borrower eligibility in accordance with lending guidelines.
- Identifies cross-selling opportunities within the credit union
- Guides borrower through loan processing/ underwriting and assists in obtaining necessary documents from the borrower to fund the loan.
- Maintains contact with borrowers & realtors, and teammates throughout the loan process.
- Achieves production goals as established by PrimeWay FCU
- Maintains a current & manageable pipeline. Ability to handle multiple pipelines.
- Able to work on weekends and available for community events/ business development events as needed. This position assumes full-time hours of M-F 9-5, and Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of loan origination experience
- Technical: Strong understanding and experience with FHA, VA, Conventional & non-conforming guidelines. Experience with non-conforming portfolio products is a plus. Able to calculate DTI and PITIA and educate borrowers on mortgage qualifications and guidelines.
- Attitude: Must be able to stay calm & professional in high-stress situations. Can function well in a high volume/fast-paced setting. Does not give up easily.
Education
- High school education or GED
ADA Requirements
- Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergencies. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
