Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Structural Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structural design, analysis, and construction oversight, ensuring that all projects meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Fluency in Mandarin is required to collaborate effectively with international partners, consultants, and stakeholders.
This role requires an open-minded professional eager to explore and implement emerging construction technologies, including 3D printing, modular construction, and panelized systems to enhance cost-efficiency and streamline development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, evaluate, and integrate emerging construction technologies such as 3D printing, modular construction, and panelized systems into projects.
- Perform structural analysis and design for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, etc.) and local regulations.
- Coordinate with our in house architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the design and construction process.
- Conduct structural inspections, assess existing structures, and recommend modifications or reinforcements.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with teams in China and the U.S., communicating effectively in Mandarin and English.
- Assist in permitting and approval processes with city and state agencies.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project management and construction teams.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Licensed Structural Engineer (SE).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related major.
- 5 years of experience in structural engineering for commercial and multifamily projects.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes and structural design software (SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
- Experience working with international teams is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
