What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Credit Analyst I position at Primis Bank?
- Commercial and Small Business financial analysis:
- Preparation of financial spread sheets
- Global cash flow analysis
- Assist credit analyst with written analysis of new and renewing loans.
- Assemble financial information as required to support commercial and small business loans submitted for new credit and renewal, such as personal credit bureau reports, business credit reports, current business status through the SCC and other documentation needed to assess borrowers’ ability to repay debt.
- Provide ongoing analytical support to all areas within Portfolio Management responsibilities.
- May support other Portfolio positions during peak periods.
- Maintain financial statement tickler, covenant tickler and annual review tickler systems to ensure accurate system reports.
- Perform/review complex loan covenant testing calculations.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and Bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, SAR, CTR, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, EEO, and fair employment practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree with focus on Business, Finance, Accounting or related equivalent educational and work experience.
- Minimum of one year experience in Commercial credit analysis or commercial lending experience, preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in analyzing business financial statements, corporate tax forms, and partnership tax returns or equivalent academic study.
- Minimum of one year experience in analyzing personal financial statements and personal tax returns or equivalent academic study.
- Strong understanding of commercial loan products, terminology, and regulatory requirements, as well as documentation required by bank policy and state and federal regulators.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and work closely with relationship managers and other support staff.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
- Ability to perform quality work while maintaining productivity and compliance standards.
- Ability to effectively identify problems & recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines and works with minimum supervision.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer skills relevant to Microsoft Office Suites (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Continuous remaining in a stationary position, particularly, but not limited to, at a desktop computer
- Continuous repetitive use of hands/arms; particularly concerning to typing, writing, phone & computer use

Experience
Preferred- Minimum of one year experience in analyzing personal financial statements and personal tax returns or equivalent academic study.
- Minimum of one year experience in analyzing business financial statements, corporate tax forms, and partnership tax returns or equivalent academic study.
- Minimum of one year experience in Commercial credit analysis or commercial lending experience, preferred.
Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better in Finance or related field
