What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mini EX Operator position at Primoris Distribution Services?
Requirements:
- Monitoring and maintaining all assigned equipment per manufactures requirements
- Safe and professional operation of all assigned equipment.
- Able to communicate and follow directives.
- Operating equipment in a manner that will avoid unnecessary damage to existing surroundings.
- Be familiar with and fully understand Utility Mark Outs, paint, locating marks and devices.
- Request assurances from project foreman, supervisor that existing utilities have been marked and recorded before beginning excavation. Always utilize a spotter.
- Cautious and aware of existing utilities and safe operation concerning such utilities.
- Productive operation of excavation and other equipment to complete tasks.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment for damage, deficiencies, report any issues.
- Perform safe loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
- Complete required paperwork, forms and records as required
- Coordinate machine actions with crew members in response to hand or audio signals
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Must be committed to working safely. Compliance with company safety regulations is required at all times.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous heavy equipment operating experience
- Strong mechanical skills
- Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to lift 75 lbs.
Physical Demands (All Positions):
- Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds
- Standing, walking including and primarily on uneven surfaces, turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously
Work Environment (All Positions):
- Employee will be subjected to outside weather conditions
- Employee could be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold, heat and humidity.
- The noise level in the work environment can often be loud
- The employee is frequently exposed to slow- or fast-moving traffic in the work environment
Operators must be willing to work overtime as dictated by workload volumes.
