Job Overview
This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing procedures involved in manufacturing processes. The main focus is on researching automation techniques to maximize production line efficiency and planning factory layouts that optimize product creation across entire facilities or warehouses with multiple departments working together as one system.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing efficient systems, processes, and machines that result in high-quality products while considering the impact of manufacturing processes on the environment.
The successful candidate will be able to study requirements for each production process and product, determining the most efficient operations based on these requirements. They may also design machines and equipment.
The individual must possess physical strength, stamina, and mobility to perform work outdoors/indoors in all weather conditions and effectively work in an office environment. They should also be able to read technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date files/data on all production processes is crucial. The individual should be able to evaluate PPV's manufacturing processes, make sound decisions on how to improve them, and develop effective automated and non-automated systems tailored to PPV's product outputs.
They will be responsible for testing new and existing production procedures, maintaining quality plans and systems, paying attention to detail, and communicating with customers and vendors in case of defects or rejections.
The role requires knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, ability to efficiently use computer software for models, drawings, concepts, etc., good knowledge of tool design and fabrication methods, project management skills, commitment to quality, familiarity with safety and environmental standards, and inventiveness and meticulousness.
Additional responsibilities include collaborating and cooperating with corporate departments, participating in subcommittees, keeping current with technical developments, performing additional assignments per Operation Manager's direction, upgrading systems and processes with new technology, and collaborating with other engineers to find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality.
