Imagine a nurturing after school program where children can relax, make friends and continue to learn while having fun. Welcome to the Primrose Explorer Program for children ages 5 through 12. Our school aged teachers provide homework help in the afternoons, aiding them in establishing good habits and freeing up for more time for family fun at home. Still, there’s plenty of time to explore creative expression, sports, technology, drama, music, games or enjoy some downtime. The fun and learning continues during Primrose's Summer Adventure Club, here children become engineers, artists, explorers and more as they discover the joys of design thinking, a fun and innovative way to learn. Engineering design challenges, experiments and themed activities await as children unlock new ways of thinking—all while having a blast!
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to lead, plan and implement an ongoing program of activities for our school aged students (during the school year) and then for our Summer Camp (during the summer months of June-August) that promote their social, emotional, cognitive and physical development, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach to teaching and learning. This is a full time, year-round position, Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children
- Plans with the Curriculum Director and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials
- Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and / or school functions as determined by the Director
- Observes all rules and regulations pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
- Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ensures that Primrose Policies and Procedures for transporting children are consistently followed
- Maintains a safe and violation-free driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to drive the Primrose Bus (clean driving record, pass a bus driving test)
- Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility a plus
- Pleasant / friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
- Highly professional and dependable
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Able to interact with students of all ages and skill levels
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations Benefits :
