Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout the classroom.
•Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
•Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
•Must be able to be outdoors under various weather conditions for at least 30 minutes twice per day.
•Subject to various noise and activity levels.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or two years of college highly preferred.
•Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
•EEC Teacher certification required.
•Current CPR/First Aid Certification – required at time of hire or within 1 month of hire.
Responsibilities:
•Is responsible for the sight and sound supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
•Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose Schools and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children.
•Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
•Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and programming.
•Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the student progress meetings and student evaluations.
•Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
•Ability to collaborate with classroom faculty.
•Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents.
•Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
•Accepts responsibility for maintenance duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
•Attends all required Faculty meetings, Student Progress Meetings, and/or events as listed in the faculty commitments.
•Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Burlington, Chelmsford, and Woburn Employee Handbook.
•Maintains 20 hours of professional development per year, as specified by EEC, and fulfills on learning opportunity requests provided by the Education Coach.
•Must complete CAP Essentials within 90 days of hire in coordination with assigned leadership team member.
•Must complete CAP Advantage through employment.
