What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Infant Teacher position at Primrose School Virginia Beach South?
Primrose School Virginia Beach South is looking for Full time Assistant Teachers to join our team.
This position works year round Monday-Friday with a set schedule working 9:00-6:00pm, with pay starting at $15.50/hr.
You would be working with the following age groups:
- Infants
The ideal candidate must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency and Primrose School of Virginia Beach Standards such as/but not limited to:
- High school diploma/GED required
- Negative TB screening upon first day of employment
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs in connection with handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous teaching/childcare experience preferred but not required
The responsibilities consist of:
- Assist with supervision and daily classroom functions
- Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
- Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, nap time and bathroom activities.
- Maintains the Primrose Schools professional attire, attitude and work behavior.
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions as determined by the Leadership Team.
