DevOps Automation Engineer - REMOTE WORK - 61577
We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our prime clients for a mid-level position DevOps Automation Engineer to work on a remote basis.
Pay Rate : $50-$55 / hr
Must Haves :
Azure DevOps / GitHub (hands on GitHub and should be all round the resume)
NET / PowerShell (More PowerShell than C#)
Automation experience
Lead experience.
Project Details Size, Scale, Scope? How does candidate fit into this?
This position will lead a team of engineers team of 7.
Currently in Azure DevOps and migrating to GitHub. Day to day - make sure team members are following processes and guidelines, give them expertise and guidance. Building migration scripts for GitHub now. They have Ansible and Openshift also that this person will be touching. Lot of production support for pipelines and delivery and do consulting with other groups to help get set up on GitHub and Azure / Azure devops. Help make sure remedy queue stays clean and distribute them throughout the team.
Help with CI and new tools / technologies GitHub is new to their environment.
Strong technical background in DevOps, needs good demonstrated soft skills and leadership capability. Don't necessarily have to have been a technical leader in the past but it helps. Comfortable leading calls and doing presentations. Would like to see energy industry background, conveyance of hunger they want to take on more and learn more tech.
Tech stack Powershell (more-so than C#), .Net framework, comfortable in Microsoft and Linux spaces, future state of "Microsoft is Linux" future cell and Linux containers. Prefer GitHub over Azure DevOps experience.
Currently they've stood up on-prem GitHub instance and working on cloud instance but have had series of setbacks. Built migration tools and done some migrations, but still very early on. This is going to be a multi-year effort to get migrated off timetable is shooting for 3 years with a little more runway after that.
