Job Summary
The NPI Program Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful introduction of new products into the market. This individual will be responsible for managing the overall quality and efficiency of new product introduction, encompassing both technical aspects and business processes.
This position requires excellent managerial and organizational skills, as well as superior project management capabilities to champion new product introductions. A solid technical background in a manufacturing environment is crucial.
The NPI Program Manager works closely with Sales, Operations, and Engineering at all levels of the organization, necessitating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Primary point of contact with customer program teams, technical offices, procurement, and quality for development projects and growth within the department(s)
- Developing and updating overall program plans on assigned programs
- Managing the overall performance of all program-related efforts
- Providing oversight and support for contracts and work order related functions
Additionally, this role entails 25% travel to meet with customers, attend meetings, and visit production sites.
Key Responsibilities
This position encompasses a wide range of duties, including:
- Developing and monitoring budgets and schedules of activities
- Developing and updating overall Program Plans on assigned programs
- Developing project plans and/or job plans for program-related efforts or contracts
- Including Action Item Lists, statements of work (SOWs), etc.
- Providing leadership, management, and oversight of plan execution
- Managing the overall performance of all program-related efforts
- Routine reporting of program status and performance to company management
- Determining overall scope of effort; working up cost and schedule estimates
- Providing oversight and support for job readiness activities
- Primary point of contact on job requirements and changes regarding cost, schedule, technical, and quality issues
Candidates should possess prior experience in Aerospace and/or Defense manufacturing, a Bachelor of Science degree, five years previous program manager experience, and previous manufacturing experience in a build-to-print environment.
