Job Description
The NPI Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of new product introduction, encompassing both technical aspects and business processes. This role involves resolving significant technical challenges, problems, and issues as they arise to maintain Primus Metals Inc.'s high standards.
This position covers a wide range of duties, requiring excellent managerial and organizational skills, as well as superior project management capabilities to champion new product introductions. A solid technical background in a manufacturing environment is essential.
The NPI Program Manager works closely with Sales, Operations, and Engineering at all levels of the organization, necessitating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Primary point of contact with customer program teams, technical offices, procurement, and quality for development projects and growth within the department(s)
- Developing and updating overall program plans on assigned programs
- Managing the overall performance of all program-related efforts
- Providing oversight and support for contracts and work order related functions
Additionally, this role entails 25% travel to meet with customers, attend meetings, and visit production sites.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Prior experience in Aerospace and/or Defense manufacturing
- Bachelor of Science degree
- Five years previous program manager experience
- Previous manufacturing experience in a build-to-print environment
- Proficient computer and applications software skills: MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook
- PMP/Agile certification a plus
- Estimating, product costing, and negotiating experience
- Product development, project planning, coordination, and management
- Organizational and logistics management
- Able to lead or leverage cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality) to evaluate, develop, and manage projects for product development
