What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Technician position at Primus Metals Inc?
The Shipping / Receiving Technician verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments and inventory. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material and verify piece count and final inspected finished goods. The Shipping / Receiving Technician arranges for the transportation of products. Duties and tasks are varied but standardized. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
Shift : M-F, 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm, opportunities for overtime
Pay Range : $20 / hr - $25 / hr
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITES
- Package objects for shipping
- Receive all incoming shipments, small package and freight. Inspects shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment and moves into inventory
- Unpack and verify piece counts, dimensions of raw material, raw material specifications, and shipping documents against purchase order for accuracy and visually inspect for damage. Reports any discrepancies or non-compliances to the buyer
- Receive items into the ERP system and scans and copy certifications to the server
- Receive from quality final inspected finished goods and purchased parts inventory
- Verify piece count, package and label. Input the bin location in ERP system and store parts accordingly.
- Cycle count inventory and report any discrepancies
- Support overall production team by facilitating / expediting daily customer and outside process shipment priorities
- Review daily ship list and prioritize. Work with assembly to identify shipping needs. Schedule freight shipments for pick up and call for local courier service as required
- Verify piece count and package parts for outside processing and customer shipments
- Ensure final approval is completed by Quality Control (QC) before finalizing shipping
- Quote all freight and small package shipments and track shipments when required
- Monitor packaging supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized shipping area
- Performs other duties as needed
