What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Engineer position at Prince Contracting?
Job Description
- Monitors and analyzes project cost estimates, expenditures and forecasts.
- Reviews subcontracts and purchase orders to obtain budgetary information for proper project budgeting; performs cost / profit analyses on change orders and extra work estimates
- Maintains logs as needed to track deliverables
- Assists in the preparation and maintenance of various essential reports and schedules; i.e., Subcontractor Status Reports, Contract and Change Order Logs, Cost to Complete reports, etc. for the purpose of preparing accurate triannual Forecasts
- Is familiar with Company accounting systems and how to utilize each
- Supports project management team in the preparation of CTC Reports and triannual forecasts; assist with monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processing
- Coordinate with project management teams to resolve project issues to ensure the completion of the project work according to budget
- Assist project management team in quantity tracking; executed and quantities to be executed in all project activities for Prince, subcontractors and vendors
- Assists project management team in claim preparation for all assigned projects
- Help maintain the cost monitoring system (SPE / HeavyJob / eCMS / DRT)
- Handles confidential legal and financial information on a regular basis
- Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
