Job Summary:
We are seeking a part-time temporary Pet Care Assistant to assist with cleaning and maintaining the Prince George Animal Services Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain animal enclosures, including disinfecting food and water areas
- Provide daily care of animals, including feeding, walking, and medicating as needed
- Lift and transfer animals safely, handling various breeds and sizes
- Maintain accurate records and files related to animal care and services provided
- Greet the public, answer questions, and provide information about animal services
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in animal care preferred
- Ability to work safely and humanely with animals, lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays, up to 20 hours per week
- Possession of a valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Pass a background check, including fingerprinting, and a drug test
