The Prince George's Arts & Humanities Council (PGAHC) is the legislative arts agency of Prince George’s County dedicated to advancing arts, culture, and humanities. If you have administrative assistance experience and a love for the arts and humanities, this role is for YOU!
The Administrative Assistant provides essential support to ensure smooth daily operations and effective communication across departments. Working under general supervision of the Operations & Administrative Manager, this role is responsible for executing administrative tasks and supporting organizational objectives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
· Answer phone and greet visitors
· Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
· Coordinates and schedules travel, meetings, and appointments for the Operations and Administrative Manager and other managers as directed
· Collate and distribute mail
· Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports, and other correspondence
· Assist with Board meetings, retreats, and projects
· Respond to administrative inquiries and questions, as well as communicate with PGAHC’s agency and program partners as needed.
Coordinate internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with PGAHC’s strategic goals.
Liaise with stakeholders, vendors, and partners to support various initiatives.
Handle general inquiries and provide information to staff and external contacts.
· Other duties as assigned
Experience/Requirements:
· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.
· 2 or more years of administrative experience in a fast-paced, non-profit environment is a plus.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
· Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
