The Prince George’s County Office of Human Resources Management is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill an HR Analyst I/II (Human Resources Analyst 1G) position, grade G18/21, in the Office of Talent Management and Administration.
About The Position
This is entry-level professional staff and administrative work supporting two divisions: Talent Acquisition and Classification and Compensation. Work involves trainee level assignments specific to these divisions. Personal contacts include other staff members to exchange information, coordinate assignments, and resolve problems. Contacts are also made with supervisors, and employees in other County departments to obtain information or inform departments about personnel policies and procedures. Other contacts occur with representatives from agencies or organizations outside County government to conduct research, obtain guidance, provide information, and participation in recruitment events. Incumbents in this class occasionally counsel employees or job applicants, but direct service or assistance to the public is limited.
Upon the satisfactory completion of a probationary period, entry level incumbents will be non-competitively promoted to the II full performance level.

Examples of Work
- Assists in the performance of professional classification and compensation work in conjunction with management studies, job analysis, position audits, allocation of positions, salary surveys, and preparation of class specifications.
- Assists in conducting classification studies of selected individual positions and prepares draft classification recommendations.
- Participates in salary surveys and preliminary analysis of salary data; utilizes automated data processing applications to store, analyze and display salary data.
- Locates and provides information to contractors engaged in classification studies or review of classification appeals.
- Obtains and provides answers to procedural questions for employees, managers and department heads concerning classification and compensation matters; assists in resolving problems.
- Assists in the performance of professional recruitment work in the review of applications, rating of education and experience and establishment of eligible lists
- Reviews applicants' qualifications to determine if minimum qualification requirements are met
- Responds to applicant inquiries both orally and in writing; provides employment information to potential applicants by telephone, email, or in person
- Maintains contacts within the community to attend job fairs and college campuses to identify job applicants.
- Provides information to managers concerning various employment-related procedures, including recruitment, transfer, promotion and demotion.
- Will be required to use automated equipment in conjunction with assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Willingly and cooperatively performs tasks and duties which may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description, but which are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources/Personnel Management, Organizational Development, Business/Public Management, Psychology, or closely related field.
