The Prince George’s County Department of Corrections is currently seeking highly qualified applicants to fill four Limited Term Grant funded (LTGF) Correctional Treatment Coordinator positions (Correctional Treatment Coordinator I), grade G18, in the Inmate Services Division.
This position is limited term grant funded (LTGF) with some benefits. Positions designated as limited-term grant-funded are temporary, and their employment period is contingent upon the grant's funding availability. The grant ends on June 30th, with possibility for renewal.
About the Position
The selected individual provides entry-level professional counseling and case management treatment interventions with offenders in a correctional facility. The incumbents selected for this position will facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions and provide support to clients who are struggling with substance use disorders (SUDs) and mental health illnesses. They will gather in-depth psycho-social histories that capture clients' backgrounds, experiences, and current challenges to create treatment plans. Additionally, incumbents will create thorough needs assessments identifying each client's specific requirements and goals. The incumbents will maintain accurate and detailed client files to ensure adequate ongoing support and compliance with legal standards.

- Maintain all credentials and licensing requirements that are necessary to provide employee mental health and substance use services in the State of Maryland.Conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments on clients entering treatment to determine appropriate services.
- Implement appropriate therapeutic interventions for identified areas of concern.
- Facilitate weekly evidence-based groups by the group curriculum.
- Provide individual counseling to clients in need of therapeutic and supportive services on caseload.
- Update the client’s treatment plans every 30 days. Develop, access, and maintain resources to assist with client’s pre and post-release plans.
- Maintain ongoing contact with a caseload not to exceed 25 clients.
- Maintain appropriate HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and case files for all clinical cases.
- Maintain accurate up-to-date records to support statistics. Submits weekly and monthly statistics required.
- Participate in weekly individual clinical supervision and monthly staff meetings with the Clinical Coordinator.
- Provide rapid mental health screening and response for face-to-face consultations following a critical incident at the detention center as needed.
- Participate in in-service training on mental health and employee wellness-related issues.
- Complete all required continuing education units to maintain a professional license in time for renewal.
- Willingly and conscientiously adheres to the established County Employment Code of Ethics, the ACA codes of ethics and to diligently and responsibly uphold the County’s high standard of customer service.
- Willingly and cooperatively perform tasks and duties assigned which may not be specifically listed in this contract but are within the occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class of work.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Public or Business Administration or other appropriate major field;
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Maintain all credentials and licensing requirements that are necessary to provide employee mental health and substance use services in the State of Maryland.
- Possess credentials as a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C)
- Possess credentials as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
- Experience working in Correctional Facility
- Experience working with Inmates.
- Experience in Criminal Background Investigation / Data Entry
- Possess a current NCIC Certification.

Conditions of Employment: Upon selection, the candidate must:
Be willing to work in a Correctional Facility.- Possess and maintain a current status as a Licensed Clinical Professional (LCPC) or Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C).
- Obtain and remain current with NCIC certifications.
- Pass a thorough background investigation.
- Pass a drug screen and subsequent random drug screens.
- Be willing to work day or evening shifts to include weekends and holidays.
- Pass a physical examination that includes TB testing.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Maintain clinical malpractice insurance with Prince George's County listed as an additional insured
- Be available and willing to respond to an on-call behavioral health crisis.
