The Prince George’s County Office of Human Resources Management is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Pensions and Retirement Services Administrative Aide (Admin Aide IV) position, grade G19, in the Pensions and Retirement Division.
About the Position
The incumbent of this position independently performs highly responsible and senior level administrative/secretarial work, under general supervision, directly supporting the Retirement and Pensions Administrator as well as the professional staff of the Pensions and Retirement Services Division. Relieves the Administrator of daily administrative detail and routine office managerial duties. This position serves the lead role in coordinating and managing office activities applying a broad knowledge of the County's pensions plans and Deferred Compensation Program.

Examples of Work
- Provides administrative services in support of the Retirement and Pensions Administrator.
- Types highly sensitive and confidential material and disseminates information to appropriate personnel.
- Drafts and composes a variety of letters, memoranda, reports, for the Administrator's signature.
- Compiles and prepares various monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual statistical reports.
- Proofreads and edits various letters, reports, etc.
- Coordinates a variety of office activities, special projects and functions.
- Responds to inquiries and referrals from other offices and visitors to ensure that information flow is accurate and prompt and to maintain good public relations.
- Schedules Board meetings and maintains meeting materials.
- Demonstrates ability to acquire services for Division through established County contracts.
- Screens visitors and telephone calls for the Plan Administrator, referring call to appropriate personnel or taking messages.
- Researches files upon request from staff/departmental liaisons and external customers.
- Responds to routine jurisdictional pension surveys using established database.
- Processes monthly expenses of Public Safety and Supplemental Pension accounts. Prepares payment requests and expense reimbursements for items charged to the Pension funds.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business administration or secretarial science
- Two (2) years of advanced secretarial/administrative experience which involved working with the public, office management and operational details, and some supervisory responsibilities.
- Applicants must be proficient in typing and shorthand where required
- Must have experience at the Administrative Aide III level equal to the length of the probationary period
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered, however, there is no equivalent for supervisory experience.
Applicants who meet minimum qualifications must pass an administered Administrative Aide exam. Applicants who have previously taken the exam on or after 8/1/2024, and passed, will not be required to re-test; instead, previously test scores will be used to receive the passing disposition.

Preferred Qualifications
Four (4) years of advanced administrative experience
Experience in Human Resources, Retirement, or Benefits field
Certified Administrative Assistant (CAA) or Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certification

- Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.

- Be willing to serve as an essential employee. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are also expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
