The Prince George's County Government Office of Community Relations is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Community Liaison (Community Developer 3) position, grade G24, in the Common Ownership Communities Division.

About the Position :
This is senior level professional work whereby incumbents perform a variety of assignments in the areas of (1) community liaison / development / advocacy or (2) social services work among client populations (e.g., youth, aged, community action, housing development, health, etc.). Incumbents may perform the more complex community development assignments subject to extensive public contact. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Community Developer IV or other designated official. Work performance is reviewed in terms of production, timeliness, and the successful completion of assignments.

Examples of Work
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote public awareness of the Office of Community Relations, Common Ownership Communities Unit to coordinate the delivery of services and increase the number of persons serviced.
- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of common ownership communities, including community demographics; community leaders; community issues, and community dynamics / sensitivities.
- Informs community representatives of government decisions, changes in policy and other relevant matters which may impact communities.
- Provides current and comprehensive program and organizational development resources to common ownership communities including information on program support and government services.
- Represents the Office of Community Relations, Common Ownership Communities Unit, and promote its interest at the community and inter-agency level.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and retrievable recorded data, statistics, and documentation for inclusion in reports or to provide information to support the validity and success of specially assigned projects and programs.
- Researches and conciliates citizen concerns independently, using an analysis of facts and applicability of laws, regulations, and other requirements. Provides technical and practical information in the area of common ownership to the general public and participates in public education efforts by making presentations, preparing marketing and other written materials, and providing input on common ownership platforms.
- Collaborates with the Commission on Common Ownership Communities (CCOC) to facilitate program awareness to the general public through development of newsletters, web page & social media platforms.
- Engages and establishes regular communications with all common ownership community associations and community.
- Serves as point of contact for multicultural agencies regarding issues related to this sector.
- Plans and administers the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mediation program by ensuring that all policies, procedures, and appropriate courses of action are implemented.
- Develops and implements a variety of special events, projects, and exhibits generated by the Office of Community Relations, Common Ownership Community Unit to reflect the needs and interests of communities.
- Consults daily with the other staff to exchange information regarding priorities, progress, or challenges.
- Assists in the coordination of strategic partnerships, programs, and initiatives that promote the success of communities throughout Prince George's County.
- Requires use of automated equipment in conjunction with assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Performs tasks and duties willingly and cooperatively which may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description, but which are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.

General Plan Information :
The Prince George's County benefits plan year is from January 1 to December 31.
A spouse (to include a same sex spouse) can be added to the health benefit plans. A marriage certificate and social security number is required to add a spouse.
Children under the age of 26 are eligible for coverage under the health benefit plans. This includes stepchildren and children of the same-sex spouse. A birth certificate(s) and social security number(s) is required to add a child(ren). If you are only adding the stepchildren or child(ren) of a same-sex spouse, you will need to submit a marriage certificate. You will also need to submit the birth certificate of the child(ren) and your spouse must be listed as a parent.
The premiums for health benefits are deducted on a pre-tax basis with the exception of Long-Term Disability, Extra Life Insurance and Voluntary Benefits (Short-Term Disability, Whole Life Insurance, Critical Illness, Accident Insurance, Cancer Indemnity, Hospital Indemnity Protection, Accident Indemnity Plan, Supplemental Dental and Group Legal Services).
New employees must enroll in the County's health benefit plans within thirty (30) days of the hire date.
The effective date of the health benefits coverage is the beginning of the month following a waiting period of forty-five (45) days from the date of hire.
After enrolling in the County's benefit plans, employees may only make changes to the plans either during the open enrollment period, which occurs annually (usually each October), and / or during the year, due to a family status change (i.e., marriage, births, divorce and adoption).
