What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deburring Technician position at Prince Industries?
Job Summary:
The Deburr Operator performs a variety of operations to remove burrs or sharp edges, clean surfaces on any bars or parts manufactured, prior to final inspection.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets blueprints
- Proficient in the use of measuring instruments is preferred
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- Use belt sanders, abrasive charged wheels, fixtures, files, scrapers, solvents, and other hand tools
- Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding set up
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
- Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: drilling, tumbling deburring, bench operations and inspection of parts
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the PM charts
- Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery
- Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment
- Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department
- Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
- Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management
- Attend scheduled meetings and actively participate by providing meaningful input
- Flexibility with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant
- Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner

Required Skills/Abilities:
- To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Education and Experience:
- Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques
- 1 years preferred experience and /or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend
- Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work
- Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles resulting from metalworking coolants/oils
- The noise level in the work environment is generally loud, in which hearing protection is required
