What you’ll do…
- Managing, mentoring and support of numerous employees, including the Controller position, in all accounting and finance related matters
- Managing, mentoring, and support of personnel at different field offices who provide transaction input for operational field personnel and related activities
- Timely and accurate monthly close and upstream reporting of subsidiary results to its public company parent
- Management of work production documentation for recording revenue and subcontractor costs
- Multi-state payroll processing (experience with prevailing wage a plus)
- Billing and Accounts Receivables including accurate and timely cash collection and application
- Accounts Payable activity including 1099s’s, W-9 verification, diversity reporting, unclaimed property returns, etc.
- Verification and/or preparation of taxes including Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax Returns
- Capital requisition and fixed asset management
- Monthly Forecasting and Annual Budgeting (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash, CapEx, etc.)
- HR support and compliance including wage and hour, I-9’s, etc.
- Support and enforcement of SOX and Internal Controls
- Interaction with external and internal audit (including miscellaneous audits from various government agencies)
- Creation and maintenance of accurate job cost reporting
- Process and project management partnership, support and oversight for portions of the operations
- Change agent in financial and operational areas
- All other areas as needed to be a value-added business partner of the President and/or as requested by the Corporate Office
Who we are looking for…
- Degree in Accounting required
- Minimum of 12 years of Controllership (or like role) required
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize matters
- Construction accounting and/or general construction background strongly preferred
- CPA and/or CMA strongly preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Concise and effective verbal and written communicator
- Above average Excel skills
- Internal or external audit experience a plus
