Overview
Prince Telecom is hiring Fiber Technicians to help connect America. As a full-service telecommunications company, we specialize in building and managing fiber networks, including aerial and underground construction, structured wiring, fiber splicing, cable mining, and engineering for the fiber-to-the-home market.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, maintain, test, or adjust fiber optic cables and related equipment
- Climb utility poles and ladders
- Lift and carry equipment weighing at least 75 lbs
- Use various hand tools
- Work in all types of inclement weather
- Enter underground facilities and use a shovel to uncover closures
- Coordinate fiber activities with other departments and staff
- Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light sources, and meters
- Terminate, splice, bond/ground, and test fiber optic equipment to customer standards
- Provide accurate equipment location, splicing, and terminating records for the fiber database
- Assist Construction and Engineering departments
- Build bays, racking, jumper ducts, and other network elements
- Monitor, communicate, and perform corrective actions to fix problems affecting fiber and/or fiber-related equipment
- Provision and install media converters
- Serve as a technical resource for staff on fiber-related areas and technical procedures
- Be available for on-call emergency coverage for fiber restoration year-round
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; or equivalent education and experience
- Two years of experience with fiber optic cable technology; formal fiber optic training strongly desired
- One year of fiber optic cable splicing experience or completion of an equivalent training program
- Authorized to work in the United States for this company
- Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
- Meet safety requirements for safety harnesses used for bucket trucks and climbing poles
- Good understanding of fiber documentation and ability to assist in laying out new fiber circuits
- Ability to think analytically and translate highly technical information to end-users
- Excellent customer presentation and service skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and deadline environments
- Adaptable to changing environments
