Job Description for Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground
A national leader in the telecommunication industry is seeking a skilled professional to oversee underground telecom construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of FTTH in-home and SMB installation technicians.
- Coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of field staff.
- Coordinate scheduling, assist dispatch with daily job routing, and ensure adequate staffing.
- Identify problem areas in the department and communicate solutions to the Project Manager.
- Develop procedures to better organize the team/department.
- Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to technicians.
- Assist in recruitment and training efforts.
- Support warehousing and logistics as needed.
- Establish operating standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
- Track employee performance and tool assignments through spreadsheets and documents.
- Perform quality control inspections to correct and coach issues.
- Interface with customers to resolve complaints and damages.
- Perform various field technician duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year fiber optic or cable installation experience.
- Ability to perform mandatory job site inspections to ensure compliance with safety policies.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service experience and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license with at least 2 years driving experience and good driving record.
