As a Training Store Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of our retail store head to tail. From hiring & training knowledgeable Game Attendants, managing cash deposits and financial transactions, creating social media stories/posts, record-keeping and inventory management, and to resolving discrepancies with any of the machines, team members, and customers.
You will work closely with the current Manager and learn daily operational standards and procedures with the goal of becoming the Store Manager. You will start as part-time and then become full-time. Once you are in the position of Store Manager, you will also have the opportunity to earn a bonus/commission by increasing the overall revenue stream of the store.
Position Training:
Phase I of training lasts 1–2 months and involves working closely with the current Manager. During this time, the trainee will observe daily operations, learn essential store management responsibilities, and practice key duties.
Phase II shifts to a hands-off approach, where the trainee assumes full Store Manager responsibilities. They will operate independently while receiving feedback for improvement. This phase continues until they are deemed fully prepared for the role.
Expectations:
- Overseeing All Aspects: Responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales, employee performance, machine operations, social media/event upkeeping, etc.
- Business Strategies: Develop business strategies to raise our customer pool, expand store traffic, and optimize profitability. Propose innovative ideas to increase sales Report on buying trends and customer needs.
- Social Media Coordination: Work with staff and social media manager to create share updates, events, or prize announcements.
- Machine Maintenance: Conducting routine checks on claw machines to ensure they are functioning properly and addressing minor issues. Coordinating repairs with technicians if needed.
- Visual Standards: Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
- Inventory Management: Ordering and stocking prizes, tokens, and other supplies. Tracking prize inventory to ensure popular items are always available.
- Training: Onboarding new employees and providing ongoing training on machine operations, customer service, and arcade policies.
- Scheduling Staff: Creating and managing work schedules for employees to cover shifts and special events.
- Performance Monitoring: Supervising employees during shifts, offering feedback, and addressing any performance issues.
- Handling Customer Issues: Addressing complaints, such as faulty machines or prize disputes, to ensure a positive experience.
Hours & Conditions:
Our current scheduling expectation is Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, totaling 30 hours per week. Please note that this is subject to change. Additionally, there is an expectation to provide coverage in the event of callouts.
Requirements:
- Two to Three years of leadership experience in retail management in a high-volume environment, with specific experience in cash handling/depositing, accounting, social media, etc.
- Professional leader with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Proven track record of sales success in a retail environment
- Flexible on weekdays and nights, including certain holidays
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid New York State Driver's license and reliable transportation
