About This Role:
As our Senior Public Safety Manager you will manage and direct the crime intelligence unit, ensuring the effective collection, analysis, and dissemination of crime-related data and intelligence. Analyze complex crime data to identify trends, patterns, and emerging threats. Prepare detailed reports and intelligence briefings to support strategic decision-making and operational planning. Provide critical intelligence support during ongoing investigations and major incidents. Assist in developing tactical plans and operational responses based on intelligence findings. Develop and implement strategies for intelligence gathering and crime analysis. Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and departments to enhance information sharing and coordination.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of intelligence analysts and staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team's effectiveness and professional development. Establish and enforce policies and procedures for crime intelligence operations. Ensure compliance with legal standards and best practices in intelligence gathering and data management. Liaise with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as community partners, to foster collaboration and information exchange. Represent the department in meetings and briefings as required. Oversee the use and maintenance of crime intelligence software and tools. Ensure the team has access to the latest technology and resources to perform their duties effectively. Stay abreast of the latest developments in crime intelligence and law enforcement techniques. Continuously seek ways to improve processes, enhance team performance, and adapt to evolving crime trends.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 7 years of related (crime analysis, intelligence, or a related law enforcement field to include 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role) experience.

Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Criminology, Forensic Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Experience in managing intelligence operations and leading teams is essential.
- Certification from a recognized crime analysis or intelligence association (e.g., International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) or Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)) may be preferred
- Strong understanding of crime analysis techniques, intelligence gathering, and law enforcement practices
- Knowledge of relevant legal standards, data privacy regulations, and best practices in intelligence operations
Special Requirements:
All employees considered for hire by the Police Department are subject to a Polygraph Examination and a thorough Background Investigation.
Work Schedule:
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with potential consideration for occasional remote work based on operational demands. Incumbents are also subject to rotating on-call and/or call-back schedule.
Starting Salary Range:
$94,378.05 - $111,033.00
