About This Role:
Your role of Therapist II, Clinical Services Caseworker, is central to the treatment work within the CORP team. You will deliver evidence-based intervention in both group and individual settings to address a broad range of challenges, including substance use histories, serious mental illness, as well as the potential impacts of trauma, bereavement, and various psychosocial stressors. As a Therapist II you will be expected to carry a caseload of 30-40 clients and provide excellent treatment services with the support of your treatment team. You will collaborate on behalf of the client with community partners, law enforcement agencies, medical providers, and social service agencies to support improved outcomes. Your position will serve clients primarily on the east side of the county (Ferlazzo office) however travel between sites within the county is required as needed. This position qualifies for a hiring bonus of $5,000. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments as funds permit. The first installment of $2,500 is payable upon the County’s first regular pay date following your position start and the final $2,500 installment will be payable on the pay date following the completion of probation.
Preferences:
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field is required.
- Currently possess LPC, or LCSW or ability to obtain LPC or LCSW license in the Commonwealth of Virginia within two years of hire.
- 1-2 years of experience providing evidence-based individual/group therapy services in a human services environment to substance using and/or co-occurring clients in the pre-contemplative and contemplative stages of change.
- Experience developing individualized treatment plans based on the client’s presenting needs and preferences.
- Experience keeping clinical documentation in an electronic health record.
- Experience with motivational interviewing and stages of change theory.
- Competent in using DSM-5 for assessment and diagnosis of conditions requiring treatment.
- Experience with recovery support in a harm-reduction model.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required.
Special Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must pass DMV record check
- Must pass TB test
- Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprinted-based national criminal history record check
- Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglect maintained by the Department of Social Services.
Work Schedule: FLSA Exempt, standard is Monday – Friday with 1 evening per week
Starting Salary Range: $74,217.00 - $88,167.00
