What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Instructor - Sharron Baucom Dale City Rec Center position at Prince William County Government?
Do you love to dance? Would you like to share your years of training, knowledge, and passion for dance with others? Consider joining our School of Dance at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center. Our growing program is family-friendly and community-oriented, offering high quality dance instruction for beginner through advanced students. We are currently hiring for Summer 2025 and the 2025 – 2026 school year.
This is a PART-TIME NON-BENEFITTED position.
Ideal candidate should possess skills in at least one or two of the following techniques: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Creative Movement.
Preferred skills include:
- Strong ballet technique
- Versatility in training
- Ability to teach multiple disciplines
- Excellent communication
Our growing program is vital and creative. We inspire creativity for our students with our love to share the art of dance. All instructors are required to follow a curriculum, training and teaching tools will be provided.
Dance classes will be taught in a dance studio at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center. Summer camps and classes run from June to August. The 2025-2026 school year begins in September.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 8th grade education and 0-12 months of related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 16 years old.
STARTING PAYRATE: $16.66The Department of Parks and Recreation conducts DMV records checks on all employees driving for work purposes and criminal background checks on all hires age 18 years and older.
