About This Role:
- Assist the public at a combined service desk (locating materials, answering inquiries, providing information).
- Perform routine library tasks (check materials in/out, pull holds, empty book drops).
- Troubleshoot basic computer and printer issues.
- Support patrons with copying, faxing, and personal device use.
- Create engaging displays to enhance the library experience.
- Maintain the library's collection (run reports, pull and inspect materials, shelve items).
- Explain library policies and procedures to patrons.
- Participate in library and county outreach events
- Contribute to library programming and events.
- Attend trainings and meetings
- May assist with passport acceptance processing
Minimum Requirements:
8th grade education and 12 months customer service experience.
Preferences:
- Experience assisting customers in a library or retail environment.
- Experience troubleshooting technology equipment including computers, printers, copiers, and mobile devices.
- Experience creating displays
- Knowledge of online and digital resources.
- Experience with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams/Webex)
- Cash handling experience.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish
- Scheduling flexibility.
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a part-time, non-exempt 20 hour a week position which includes days, evenings, and weekend hours. Scheduling flexibility is imperative. The hours of operation are Monday – Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday – Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Closed on Sunday.
Starting Salary Range: $19.41 – 24.55 /hourly
