If you love being outside, creating lifelong memories for children, and planning exciting activities - then we have the job for you! The Department of Parks and Recreation offers full-day camp programs for ages 6-14 throughout all of Prince William County to include indoor and outdoor adventures. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team.
Camp Counselors are responsible for the daily supervision of campers, daily activity planning, safety, and group management. Camp Counselors must be able to work within a team setting to accomplish program goals. Successful Camp Counselors are upbeat, decisive, and responsible, while giving campers a fun and safe camp experience. Organizational and strong leadership skills are a plus! Camp programs are generally offered Monday- Friday from 9a-5p, however due to our extended care program, there may be times when flexibility is necessary. Please note: employee hours are based upon camp enrollments and cannot be guaranteed.

- Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center - 14300 Minnieville Road, Dale City, VA
- Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center - 13025 Chinn Park Drive, Prince William, VA
- Veterans Memorial Park - 14300 Veterans Drive, Woodbridge, VA
- Lake Ridge Park - OUTDOOR Camp - 12350 Cotton Mill Drive, Lake Ridge, VA
- Locust Shade Park - OUTDOOR Camp - 4701 Locust Shade Dr, Triangle, VA
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must be at least 18 years old AND have 6 months experience working with children in structured settings/programs. High school diploma and G.E.D required.
Starting Payrate: $16.66
The Department of Parks and Recreation conducts DMV record checks on all employees driving for work purposes and criminal background checks on all hires ages 18 years and older. Finger printing may be required.
