We are seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time Therapist III (Senior Clinical Services Caseworker) position in the New Horizons School- and Clinic-Based Programs. This full-time position requires a 4 or 5-day work week that includes Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 8 : 00 p.m. and a beginning work time of 7 : 30 a.m. The position provides supervisory and clinical services in a local high school and in an outpatient setting at our Woodbridge office.

About This Role :

The New Horizons School-Based (NH SB) and Clinic-Based (NH CB) Programs offer a team environment and flexible work week (4- or 5-day work week). NH SB and NH CB Therapist IIIs support their team by serving as mentors and trainers through appropriate supervision of clinical staff.

Job Responsibilities Include :

  • Maintaining a caseload of school-based and clinic-based clients
  • Providing clinical and administrative supervision for clinical staff
  • Providing clinical supervision for professional licensure candidates
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to include the ASAM criteria and DLA-20 and formulating diagnoses
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans
  • Providing outpatient treatment and case management services to youth and families with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring issues
  • Maintaining clinical documentation in Electronic Health Record according to agencies policies and procedures for own caseload of clients
  • Provides crisis intervention services for assigned caseload of clients
  • Provides case consultation of crisis intervention services for supervisees or other Therapist II's
  • Develops and maintains effective collaborative relationships with other professionals, service providers, and community agencies

Minimum Requirements :

  • Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field
  • Possesses an unrestricted LPC or LCSW in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • 2-3 years of experience providing services to children, adolescents and families with issues related to mental health, substance use and co-occurring in an outpatient program setting
  • 1-2 years professional level supervisory experience
  • Preferences :

  • Experience providing and supervising direct clinical services to youth and families with complex mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to therapists
  • Experience with and providing school-based and outpatient services
  • Experience providing crisis intervention and risk management
  • Experience with Medicaid-funded services for youth
  • Experience collaborating with other service providers
  • Bilingual and multilingual candidates encouraged to apply
  • Special Requirements :

  • Candidate must be licensed in Virginia as an LPC or LCSW
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must pass DMV record check
  • Must pass TB test
  • Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint based National Criminal History Record Check
  • Child Protective Services Requirements : Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services.
  • Work Schedule :

    This full-time, FLSA exempt position is partially based in one of our local high schools on the West side of the county and at our Woodbridge office. This full-time position requires a 4 or 5-day work week that includes Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 8 : 00 p.m. and a beginning work time of 7 : 30 a.m.

    Starting Salary Range : $82,777.50 - $111,033.00

    This position qualifies for a hiring bonus of $5,000. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments as funds permit. The first installment of $2500 is payable after (90) days of employment have been completed. The final $2,500 installment will be payable following the completion of the probationary period.
