About This Role :
- Provide excellent customer service at an integrated service desk answering patron inquiries and conducting reference interviews.
- Help patrons with technology issues, locate materials, and promote library services and programs.
- Assist in the Makerspace for open hours, programs, and appointments.
- Interpret and explain library policy and procedures to patrons.
- Maintain an assigned section of the library collection.
- Pull hold requests, shelve materials, and assist with circulation reports.
- Attend training and meetings as necessary.
- Provide assistance to library outreach events in the community.
Minimum Requirements :
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Preferences :
Special Requirements : The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule :
This is a part-time, non-exempt position at Central Library which requires flexibility including evenings and weekends. The hours of operation are Monday – Wednesday 9 : 00 a.m. – 8 : 00 p.m., Thursday – Saturday 9 : 00 a.m. – 5 : 00 p.m. Closed on Sunday. This position will require one evening per week and rotating Saturdays.
Starting Salary Range : $21.14-$26.65
