This position will be responsible for leading the Systems and Solutions Team, a technical team of four advanced GIS and technology professionals, championing the development, implementation, and management of the enterprise GIS, applications, and solutions that support numerous critical functions within the county organization, local businesses, and county residents. This role reports to the Geospatial Technology Services Program Manager and is part of the Enterprise Applications Division of the county’s Department of Information Technology (DoIT).

As a Senior GIS Manager, you will possess a blend of advanced GIS technical expertise, supervisory experience, strong project management skills, and leadership abilities. You will supervise and manage the work of a team of talented and advanced level GIS and technology professionals, driven to deliver high quality solutions and maximize the county’s GIS and IT investments. You will teach, coach, and mentor your team members- making sure that they have every opportunity available to them to be successful in their respective roles and responsibilities.
Some of the primary responsibilities of the Senior GIS Manager include:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and seven years of GIS technical experience.

This position is classified as exempt with the expectation that the candidate will complete duties within the time frame required. Standard workweek is 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. After hours and weekend work are occasionally necessary to provide services that cannot be performed during normal business hours.
This is a telework eligible position that includes some in-office scheduling. This is subject to change based on the needs of the program and organization.
Salary Range: $91,162.50 - $152,509.50 Annually

- Manage a team of GIS and technology professionals, providing motivation, training, mentoring, coaching, and support, as well as promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand GIS requirements, manage expectations, and maintain positive relationships.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget and comply with organizational standards.
- Stay updated with GIS technology trends, driving process and technology improvements within the team and program.
- Collaborate with key GIS and DoIT leadership, county departments and agencies to leverage geospatial technology in enhancing government operations and decision-making.
High school diploma or G.E.D. and seven years of GIS technical experience.
Preferences
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field
- Seven or more years of progressive GIS technical experience leveraging the Esri platform
- Four or more years of supervisory experience
- Four or more years of project management experience
- Prior programming and application development experience in an enterprise GIS environment
- Experience delivering customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, including the public
