About This Role: The Senior Engineering Director will maintain operational excellence and establish new capabilities in application development, oversee all enterprise application division management, integration, and operations. The leader will ensure alignment with the Department’s and County’s goals and develop additional value creation opportunities for the Enterprise Applications Division.
This role oversees the Business Technology Services team and is tightly-coupled with the Geospatial Technology Services (GTS) team. A critical aspect of this position is fostering the development of strong Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with deep application engineering and implementation experience, ensuring that the County’s technology application portfolio offers the county robust, scalable, and Cloud-centric applications and platforms to meet the evolving business and service needs of the County.

Preferences
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of Experience running a Software Engineering organization or DevOps practice.
- 7 years of leadership and supervision experience, including direct management of IT teams.
- Proven experience in application modernization, consolidation, and the integration of AI and automation technologies.
- Expertise in financial systems, HCM systems, ERP Systems, and other enterprise platforms and technologies.
- Experience with IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) and fiscal management.
- Relevant certifications in software engineering, leadership and I.T. are a plus and should be provided.
