Litigation Attorney (Family Law)

Our client, a trusted and growing family law firm in Salt Lake City, is currently seeking a Litigation Attorney to work on a variety of legal matters, primarily divorce, custody, modification, enforcement and protective orders, but also adoptions and premarital agreements. The ideal candidate would be able to join a small but highly collaborative team, offering their clients exceptional legal representation, and also the care, attention and respect they deserve.
The successful candidate will be able to add value immediately by managing their own case load, with mentorship and team assistance, and will have experience within family law and a desire to work on a variety of complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive legal research, utilizing an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to manage a growing caseload independently, utilizing support when needed.
- Prepare for and attend court proceedings and mediations, depositions, etc.
- Provide legal counsel and strategy to clients.
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records.
- Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients while also advising them on a variety of issues.
- Utilize exceptional communication and respond in a timely matter to clients.
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
- Comply with all legal standards, regulations and deadlines.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements
- JD from an ABA-approved law school
- An active license with the Utah State Bar
- 3-7 years of experience within family law
