Princeton Infrared Technologies, Inc. (PIRT) is a small startup developing advanced shortwave infrared (SWIR) imaging and detection technology. With world leading products in SWIR imaging, we are looking for individuals to support our growing R&D and commercial business. This immediate opportunity is for a Device Scientist reporting to the company’s President. This is a full-time position in our Monmouth Junction, NJ office. PIRT personnel have the opportunity to perform a wide variety of tasks and create industry-leading technologies. This individual will be developing new detector structures, new III-V material products, as well as modifying various processing techniques to lower cost and improve yield.
Job Duties Include:
- Principal Investigator on R&D contracts
- Develop new detector structures that fulfill R&D contract needs and new product development
- Conduct device testing and analysis on specialty R&D devices
- Develop process flows for R&D detector material
- Improve semiconductor processes for production material
- Collaborate with chief scientist and outside technical advisors on proposals for new material development
- Work with and maintain relationships with external processing suppliers and vendors
- Create work instructions for processing technicians and outside vendors
- Manage processing technician
Job Requirements Include:
- 3 years experience working in a semiconductor fab
- 3 years experience with InP based materials
- Experience with thin film depositions (nitrides, oxides)
- Mask design experience for contact and stepper mask sets
- Document fab process flows for processing technicians
- Experience in development of APDs beneficial (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avalanche_photodiode)
- Ability to model various detector device structures
- Ability to work at a very high technical level
- Experience with standard semiconductor test techniques, such as I-V and C-V measurement, required
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and assume responsibility for work performed
- Solution minded, willingness to continuously improve, ability to drive business improvement
- U.S. citizen or Green Card holder
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in sciences or engineering (preferred)
- Work experience: 5 years (includes graduate school)
- III-V material experience: 3 years
