Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter.
- Provide server-level support, including provisioning, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of VMware-based systems.
- Monitor and resolve server-related incidents and problems in a timely manner.
- Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including patch management and updates.
- Collaborate with desktop support teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Implement and manage server security policies, including backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support business needs and IT projects.
- 5 years of experience with VMware infrastructure, including vSphere and ESXi.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, virtualization technologies, and storage systems.
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux server environments.
- Experience with networking concepts (e.g., VLANs, firewalls) as they relate to VMware.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance tuning in a virtualized environment.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- VMware certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP) are highly desirable.
- Experience in desktop virtualization (VDI) environments such as VMware Horizon.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerCLI or similar tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) in hybrid or integrated environments.
