Position Summary:
As an Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in managing the accuracy and integrity of my client's financial operations. You’ll collaborate closely with various departments, contributing to strategic decisions while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position is on-site 5 days a week, offering the opportunity to immerse yourself in my client's vibrant office culture while enjoying some flexibility to support work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Coordinate with auditors for periodic reviews and annual audits.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members across departments to support financial decision-making.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax regulations and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 6 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
