The Project Manager will work closely with appropriate resources to ensure projects are progressing according to the initial kick-off timeline. The Project Manager will prepare and present progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis ensuring challenges and roadblocks to project timeline are mitigated.
Requirements
• Attend project kickoff meetings as needed
• Drive the daily, weekly, and monthly machining schedules to meet customer expectations and internal corporate expectations as it relates to site sales goals.
• Meet with appropriate management staff regarding ongoing projects and their status
• Maintain Project Management Data with real time information on open projects for dissemination across appropriate channels
• Assist in the development of procurement channels / supply chain when establishing new vendors, suppliers, and processes
• Monitor and track all active projects using project plan templates
• Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document needs as needed
• Coordinate internal resources for project execution as needed
• Coordinate with appropriate site team members and vendors for the execution of multiple projects
• Monitor and Report changes to project scope or schedule to the project team and Sr management as required
• Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change, based on trend data analysis and lessons learned
• Establish and measure project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and milestones
• Validate and coordinate project specific, industry certifications are current or planned to complete
• Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
• Manage relationships with customers and relevant stakeholders
• Use tools and experience to adopt similar project management processes with other departments within the organization
• Measure and communicate New Product Introduction (NPI) capacity and capability and provide insights to key decision makers on the probability of success.
• Perform continuous risk management assessments to eliminate failure modes, rework, and non-conformances
• Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Prior project management experience
• Prior scheduling management experience within a job shop environment
• Pleasant and confident demeanor when dealing with staff and customers
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven success working with all levels of management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, facilitate meetings, and execute action items assertively both on-site and remotely as needed
• Ability to understand and provide appropriate attention to project deadlines
• Experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members’ capabilities and skill sets
• Knowledge of industry certification attainment processes and requirements
• Efficient and well organized
• Ability to communicate difficult / sensitive information tactfully
Desired Experience and Qualifications
• Experience with Lean / Six-Sigma methodology deployment and leading project teams.
• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related field – Business or Engineering preferred or 5 years experience
• 5 years’ demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams across multiple, off-site locations
